Description

The Gulf Breeze Zoo, a 50-acre facility located in the beautiful Florida panhandle, is expanding and searching for additional keepers. The Zoo maintains a collection of over 900 animals including great apes, carnivores, primates, birds, reptiles and an abundance of hoofstock.

Education and Pre-requisites

Currently Seeking:
An energetic and hardworking individual to work in with our primary keepers on two of our Hoofstock shifts. Animals that you will be working with include a wide variety of antelope, cervids, zebra, giraffe, llamas, kangaroos and ratites. One-year previous experience working with and around hoofstock required. Must enjoy working with hoofstock in an open environment.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: completing all basic cleaning and watering, recording breeding observations, assisting with medical needs, daily records and assisting with habitat maintenance and improvements.
All applicants must be physically fit and active, able to lift 50 pounds comfortably, and be able to work in all types of weather.  Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a valid driver’s license. Must adhere to strict personal appearance requirements with no visible tattoos permitted and maintain a non-smoking work environment. Weekends and holidays are mandatory workdays for new hires, as are long days when needed. Must be able to complete daily tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision once trained, keep good daily records, and be proficient at observing animals
