Alabama Safari Park, a 350-acre drive through zoo and breeding center opening in February 2018, is currently hiring keeper staff.

We have full-time openings available. These positions require individuals with excellent observation skills, strong work ethic, and previous hoofed stock experience, whether exotic or domestic. All keepers will be responsible for the daily care of the animals as well as being part of the team that monitors visitor interactions with our animals. Keepers are required to maintain animal records, as well as assist in animal breeding programs. Experience may be substituted for formal education.

Education and Pre-requisites

• Hoofed stock experience, domestic or exotic.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science or Biological sciences preferred
• A strong work ethic, excellent physical condition, and a willingness to learn
• Must be able to adhere to our strict personal appearance requirements, including no visible tattoos
• Maintain a non-smoking, tobacco free work environment
• Have the ability to work in all weather conditions
• Experience in using, or willing to learn to use, trucks, tractors, weed eaters, and other types of machinery and equipment
• Minimum of 6 months paid animal care experience for entry-level positions
• Valid Driver’s license
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, repeatedly, twist/turn/bend, and be very ambulatory
