Panther Ridge is looking for interns to care for many species of exotic felines. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing exceptional care for the animals in our collection, all the while supporting conservation efforts in Africa and Asia. Although we are not open to the general public, we provide educational private tours conducted by all staff, interns and the director. Panther Ridge is currently home to 19 cats including Cheetah, Leopard, Jaguar, Puma, Clouded Leopard, Ocelot, Serval, and Caracal. Check out our website at Pantherridgecc.org to learn more. Panther Ridge is located 30 min southwest of West Palm Beach, 20 min from the ocean and 1.5 hours from Miami. The start and end dates of the internship are flexible. Preferred start is December 15th or sooner and will last 3 months. For the right individual the internship may be extended. The interns will be expected to work 6 days a week. Housing and a $200/month stipend will be provided.

Education and Pre-requisites

Responsibilities Include:
• Diet preparation
• Cleaning of enclosures
• Animal interactions/training
• General grounds maintenance as needed
• Assisting with veterinary care if needed
• Providing enrichment
• Public interactions through tours
• Follow safety procedures

Requirements
• Must be working toward or have a degree in biology, zoological or a related field
• 3 months full time exotic feline experience preferred
• Previous training experience always a plus
• Ability to lift and carry 40-60 pound boxes
• Ability to work in the Florida weather conditions for extended periods of time
• Must work all Holidays and weekends
• Ability to stand/walk for 6-8 hours each day
• Must be a hardworking, self-motivated individual
• Must work well with others
• Must have their own reliable car (as our intern housing is off-site)
